The Lido at the small Montiggl lake

Visitors to the small lake at Montiggl will find it pretty as a picture.

As far back as the 1980s, the general idea was to keep both cars and motorbikes as far away from the lakes as possible. This is why it can only be reached only on foot or by bike.
The kind hosts at the small lake have also arranged a shuttle bus service to ferry guests there and back, if they so wish.

Looking back as far as the 1970s, school groups from e.g. the Harz or Stuttgart areas in Germany used to pitch their tents there during the summer holidays. At Waldthalerhof a cupboard was used to store bulky objects that were not taken home again, such as fridges, air mattresses etc. Some of those teachers and pupils even returned to Montiggl for their holidays after their schooldays were over.
